Aniagwu Urges Corps Members On Self Development

Corps members have been called upon to always seek ways develop themselves towards relevance while in service.

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made this call at the send-off party organized by the Ministry of Information for the 2021/2022 Batch B corps members, who passed out today.

Mr. Aniagwu said that the one-year period of service to the nation should be utilized by corps members to arm themselves with skills that would make them capable of fending for themselves after their service year.

He further stated that the era of parading certificates while searching for white collar jobs, was over, and that corps members should rather depend on skills they are able to learn in order to make themselves meaningfully engaged.

The commissioner added that those that took the opportunity in participating in the state government skills were wise and had acquired much more than just a certificate.

He said that the certificate does not stop anyone from acquiring and exhibiting skills, saying that such skills could provide money and food on their table.

"It is good to be focused on whatever you are doing because the world we are in today is very challenging," he said.

While congratulating the outgone Batch B corps members for completing their service year, he thanked God for keeping them safe and healthy.

He advised the corps members to put in their best in whatever they do and wished them all the best in life, especially as they go out into society.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Paul Osahor, admonished the outgone corps members to always conduct themselves appropriately, saying that one of the attributes of a good education was the manifestation of a good conduct.
