THE All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship aspirant and Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Olorogun Barrister Ovie Omo-Agege, on Wednesday 4th, May 2022, said he would step down from contesting for  the 2023 gubernatorial race in Delta state.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant and DSP of Nigeria made this revelation while speaking with Channels Television on Wednesday, in his Abuja residence.

Agege, speaking to a journalist who asked him how preparation to be produce Governor Okowa's successor in 2023 replied by questioning "why that should be?" He said that he would step down from his ambition and throw his weight behind him: if Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru fully declared his intention to run for the office of the Delta state governor in 2023.

Ovie Omo-Agege also said that: it won't be nice to the will of God Almighty to contest against Ogboru whom he once joined hands with others to denied him his several chances of becoming the governor of Delta despites been declared as the winners of those elections by INEC.

That it won't be fine with God Almighty and well meaning Deltans to contest against someone that rescued him from political damnation when his own former party (PDP) almost finished his political careers.

Ovie Omo-Agege also said that if Ogboru has been described as the symbol of peace and unity in Delta state politics, there is every needs to reciprocates such kind gesture by doing the needful especially now that it's the 'original' turn of Urhobo to succeed Okowa in 2023.
