Onoyake Appreciates Okowa For Rehabilitation Of Jakpa Junction




 


The  Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon Ramson Onoyake, has applauded and appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the ongoing rehabilitation of Jakpa Junction, Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area.

The Uvwie Local Government Council chairman made the commendation and appreciation during his visit to the ongoing Jakpa Road Junction project site Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Tuesday, 14th June, 2022.

Onoyake however demanded the need for a permanent solution to the constant gridlock in Jakpa Junction.

He also said that there was need to checkmate criminals at the said junction.

To this end, he suggested that the junction should be blocked and that vehicles from the PTI Road axis should navigate through Effurun/ Sapele Road on road on the right and use the bye pass by Refinery Road to Jakpa Junction.

He also suggested that vehicles coming from Ekpan axis should navigate through Effurun-Sapele Road on the right and use the Airport Road Roundabout to Jakpa Junction.

Onoyake reasoned that his suggestion will also check the incidence of driving against traffic.

The project manager of the construction company in charge of the project, Mr Ghadj Mansour who spoke on behalf of the Managing Director assured that Hon Onoyake’s suggestions will be favourable looked into.

He had earlier gave governor Okowa a pat on the back for the completion of the Airport Junction, Effurun project.

Onoyake also remarked that Governor Okowa’s achievements was across the state but however noted that the governor’s achievements in Uvwie Local Government Area were numerous and marvelous.

BREAKING NEWS : Ovrode Community Shuts Down Ughelli/Asaba Express Way

BREAKING NEWS: HOUSE OF REPS CONCURS WITH SENATE ON OMO-AGEGE ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT BILL

The House of Representatives has, by way of concurrence with the Senate, passed the Senator Ovie Omo-Agege ‘Bill for an Act to make Comprehensive Provisions for the Prohibition and Punishment of Sexual Harassment of Students by Educators in Tertiary Educational Institutions’. The House passed the Bill in its Committee of the Whole on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  This is a major development in the principled quest for a stringent national law to properly deal with the inhuman scourge of sexual harassment in our academic campuses.  With this development, the Bill will now be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent.
