Police officer to face disciplinary action for extorting N400,000 from a citizen




A Twitter user had come on the app to cry for help after the officers allegedly stopped him and extorted the money from him.

The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stepped into the case and after a detailed investigation, the erring officers were arrested. 

Hundeyin apologised to the Twitter user and added that the officers will face disciplinary action.

FG Upgrades Curriculum for Universities, Adds 50 programs

The Federal Government through the National Universities Commission has finalized a new curriculum for Nigerian Universities. The commission also made it known that the number of programs has been increased from 188 to 238. The PUNCH reports that the NUC had last year inaugurated a committee of experts drawn from various disciplines in Nigerian Universities to create the new Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards for Universities. The latest bulletin released by the commission and made available to our correspondent in Abuja explained that the committee had turned in their report to the commission. POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS/RECOVERY OF 1 ENGLISH PISTOL

An intelligence investigation has led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Iyegbunuwe Oluchukwu ‘m’ of Issele-Uku.  The suspect led the detectives to their hideout at Onicha-Ugbo in Aniocha North LGA, where two other suspects, one Okwudili Ozah ‘m’ and Esther Nwoko ‘f’, were arrested and One (1) English revolver pistol, fifteen (15) rounds of live ammunition, and six (6) expended ammunition were recovered. Suspects allegedly stole the motorcycle at gunpoint and it’s suspected to be in the possession of one of their accomplices Chidinma Nwoko ‘m’, the husband of Esther Nwoko. The effort is on to arrest the other members of the gang.
