You Brought Prosperity To Delta - Ossai Tells Okowa @63



Delta State Governor Special Assistant on Media Mr Ossai Ovie Success has congratulated the State Governor Sen Ifeanyi Okowa as he clocks 63 years.

Ossai in a message to felicitate with the Governor  said the Governor has brought prosperity to Delta State.

He noted that considering what the governor has done in the past seven years, he is a blessing to the people of Delta State.

He said; " Onbehlaf of my family ,  I want to celebrate, congratulate you and appreciate God for using you to transformed Delta State.

As a young privileged boy working closely with you, I am aware of the efforts you have invested in making sure there is reduction in unemployment, there is peace , infrastructural developments, improvement in our agricultural sector, health sector etc.

Your Excellency, God has been gracious to you   and despite the challenges, you have made Delta State an enviable state with your determination and prudent management of the State resources.

Emulating your humility, truthfulness , answering of people's calls, replying of messages,  integrity has been helpful to me.

Thank you for being a lovely father to us all irrespective of our individual differences.”

Ossai also acknowledged the governor for the empowerment of youths, construction of road projects across the state including investment in other sectors of the economy.

“Your Excellency, the over 700 roads you have been constructed with drainage projects across the three senatorial district including storm drainage projects in Asaba and Warri, the Contributory Health Insurance Scheme for all Deltans with government paying for the Under 5, pregnant women and the elderly in the society, thousands of our youths who are now job creators through the Office of the Chief Jobs Creation Officer headed by Professor, Eric Eboh, Ministry of youth development,  Girl Child development  , Ministry of Women Development and other ministries, your achievemnts in Sport which include completion of the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba, Ozoro Polytechnic Stadium at Ozoro as well as the succesful hosting of 52 countries for the African Senior Athletics Championships Asaba 2018, also the  succesful hosting of 52 countries for the African Senior Athletics Championships Asaba 2018, AITEO Cup Finals in conjunction with the Nigeria Football Federation and host of others, the new state Secretariat named after the Asagba of Asaba, the teachers training institute and the Federal Road Safety training centre and the over 200, 000 youths you took from poverty are Part of the Prosperity you brought to Delta State.

I am overwhelmed to celebrate you at 63 and it’s my prayer that Almighty God will grant you
longer life, good health and strength” . he prayed .

Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has deplored poor supply of electricity to the consumers in the state by Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).  Okowa expressed his displeasure over the situation at the official opening of Lumen Christi College, Maryhill, Owanta, Ika North East Local Santament Area of the State on Thursday.  He said that even when residents and communities procured transformers and handed over to BEDC, "they will still them l charge them to energise it".  According to the energizer, sometimes you install a transformer, and the distribution company will ask you to come and pay even when you are handing over that transformer to them.  He regretted that "even when you are ready to pay, they will delay you for six months and even for one year. BREAKING NEWS : Ovrode Community Shuts Down Ughelli/Asaba Express Way

The Residents of Ovrode Community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, has shutdown Ughelli/Asaba expressway in a renewed protest over negligence of the community by State and Federal Governments.   The protesters comprise of men, women and youths besieged the Ughelli/Asaba expressway for hours with placards bearing various inscription such as, “Ovrode is bleeding, “No Federal and State Government projects in Ovrode Community”, “Our Grammar school is in a bad shape, no teachers and  no chairs”, “No Constituency projects in Ovrode Community,” “Oil exploration in our community since 1963 till date , nothing to show for it”, among others.  Addressing newsmen at the scene of the protest,  the President General of Ovrode Community,  Mr Felix Efedhoma said,  both State and Federal Government has abandoned Ovrode Community despite being an Oil producing Community since 1963 till date. BREAKING NEWS: HOUSE OF REPS CONCURS WITH SENATE ON OMO-AGEGE ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT BILL

The House of Representatives has, by way of concurrence with the Senate, passed the Senator Ovie Omo-Agege ‘Bill for an Act to make Comprehensive Provisions for the Prohibition and Punishment of Sexual Harassment of Students by Educators in Tertiary Educational Institutions’. The House passed the Bill in its Committee of the Whole on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.  This is a major development in the principled quest for a stringent national law to properly deal with the inhuman scourge of sexual harassment in our academic campuses.  With this development, the Bill will now be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for his assent.
