Trillions Spent Buying Nose Masks, Hand Sanitizers Over Covid-19 Could've Solved ASUU Issue -Governor Bello


“Like I used to say; I’ll return to the days when I was a loner, I think I’m still a loner on the issue of no COVID-19. The trillions spent buying nose masks and hand sanitizers, could have solved this ASUU issue, but that’s not.

“I don’t think they [ministers] are representing Mr. President well. This is a man that cares so much about education, and even children during that lockdown were being fed at home.

“Those who Mr. President entrusted to handle this protracted issue are not doing justice to it.” -Governor Yahaya Bello, Kogi State

Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has deplored poor supply of electricity to the consumers in the state by Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).  Okowa expressed his displeasure over the situation at the official opening of Lumen Christi College, Maryhill, Owanta, Ika North East Local Santament Area of the State on Thursday.  He said that even when residents and communities procured transformers and handed over to BEDC, "they will still them l charge them to energise it".  According to the energizer, sometimes you install a transformer, and the distribution company will ask you to come and pay even when you are handing over that transformer to them.  He regretted that "even when you are ready to pay, they will delay you for six months and even for one year. BREAKING NEWS : Ovrode Community Shuts Down Ughelli/Asaba Express Way

The Residents of Ovrode Community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, has shutdown Ughelli/Asaba expressway in a renewed protest over negligence of the community by State and Federal Governments.   The protesters comprise of men, women and youths besieged the Ughelli/Asaba expressway for hours with placards bearing various inscription such as, “Ovrode is bleeding, “No Federal and State Government projects in Ovrode Community”, “Our Grammar school is in a bad shape, no teachers and  no chairs”, “No Constituency projects in Ovrode Community,” “Oil exploration in our community since 1963 till date , nothing to show for it”, among others.  Addressing newsmen at the scene of the protest,  the President General of Ovrode Community,  Mr Felix Efedhoma said,  both State and Federal Government has abandoned Ovrode Community despite being an Oil producing Community since 1963 till date. BREAKING NEWS: Court Sentences Billionaire Kidnapper, Evans, Two Others To Life Imprisonment

Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, and two others, have been declared guilty of kidnapping and sentenced to life imprisonment by a Lagos High Court, sitting in Ikeja. Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Friday 25/2/2022, sentenced the man popularly known as billionaire kidnapper or Evans, and his accomplices – Uche Amadi and Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu to life imprisonment. The Ikeja High Court premises in Lagos were under tight security as the judge gave the verdict. The court found them guilty of conspiracy and kidnapping of Mr Donatius Dunu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Donatus Dunu was kidnapped on February 14, 2017, and a ransom of €223,000 was collected from his family. The judge, however, discharged and acquitted the other co-defendants: Ogechi Uchechukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, formerly a soldier; and Victor Aduba, also an ex-soldier. The court said there was no evidence linking them to the crimes.
